Once upon a time, the pressures from work, traffic and the drizzly rain of beautiful but, gray Seattle forced us to look south of the border for some sunshine and relaxation. We decided that we were going to explore a path less traveled. To the beautiful but almost undiscovered state of Nayarit, Mexico.

North of Puerto Vallarta we traveled. Through jungle mountains, past sugar fine sandy  beaches. Gazing at awe at the small sleepy villages along the way as if held in sway by the many palm trees gently fanned by the ocean breeze. Till we arrived in Aticama, Nayarit.

Here we found true paradise! Where we built a little villa set on the shores of the Pacific. With the most beautiful sunsets and most pristine, unspoiled beaches you will find anywhere.

This is a place where the ocean, bay, and sunsets are all enjoyable from the wide veranda and garden. A place where you can dine inside or out on the patio tables. Or lay around on the hammock all day if you so desire.

In this paradise you can do as much as you want or nothing at all. 

A few minutes walk brings you to Matenchen beach. Unspoiled by tourists or pollution but spotted with friendly beach restaurants.

Fifteen minutes away by bus or car is the Historic town of San Blas. Or you can tour La Tovara. These famous Mangroves are filled with tropical flora and fauna, including huge crocodiles!
